Why get involved with DGR-UK?
Because we need a network of people in the UK promoting resistance to industrial civilisation and the need for an Underground. We only have one planet and it’s being savaged. Enough is enough.
DGR-UK’s current work includes advocating for the DGR strategy, contributing to the culture of resistance and helping develop a network of DGR members across the UK and beyond.
It’s early days for DGR-UK, but a very late hour for the planet. Whatever is coming, we need to face the painful facts of our situation so that we can take effective action. The DGR movement is gathering pace worldwide – if you are committed to the strategies laid out in the book Deep Green Resistance: Strategy to Save the Planet, please join us.
We welcome members of all ethnicities, genders, colours and backgrounds who agree with the following:
- DGR Security Culture (http://www.deepgreenresistance.org/get-involved/security)
- DGR Code of Conduct (http://www.deepgreenresistance.org/get-involved/code-of-conduct)
- DGR Principles (http://www.deepgreenresistance.org/who-we-are/statement-of-principles)
- DGR Strategy: Decisive Ecological Warfare (http://www.deepgreenresistance.org/who-we-are/our-approach)
We also think it is very important that you read the DGR book – Deep Green Resistance: Strategy to Save the Planet.
DGR UK Membership
We expect all those that want to join DGR UK to have read the DGR book – Deep Green Resistance: Strategy to Save the Planet. We are looking for people that want to get actively involved in DGR organising and in campaigns/projects in their area.
To join DGR UK (aboveground, non-violent direct action group) potential members have to agree to the:
- DGR Code of Conduct (http://www.deepgreenresistance.org/get-involved/code-of-conduct)
- DGR Statement of Principles (http://www.deepgreenresistance.org/who-we-are/statement-of-principles)
- DGR Decisive Ecological Warfare strategy (http://www.deepgreenresistance.org/who-we-are/our-approach)
Once you have contacted DGR UK requesting to join, the first stage of the membership joining process involves answering some questions via email and reading the new members document. The second stage is an informal interview where we go through the DGR Code of Conduct, Statement of Principles, Decisive Ecological Warfare Strategy and check prospective members agree. Then we will all exchange biographies and how DGR is organised will be explained. Discussion and questions during this call or meeting are welcomed.
So there are no requirements to joining except agreeing with the DGR Code of Conduct, Statement of Principles, Decisive Ecological Warfare Strategy. Once you become a member you get access to the DGR forum and can get involved in decision making. Again we need those that want to get actively involved.
There are no membership fees but we hope that DGR UK members will be able to make donations if they are able.
If you support DGR UK but are not ready to become a member then why not join our monthly newsletter email mailing list by emailing uk (at) deepgreenresistance.org. There is also the Resisting Together facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/resisting.together/
If you would like to join or have any questions that are not answered on this site, then please email uk (at) deepgreenresistance.org
DGR UK Organisational Structure
Each DGR chapter and its members can organise how we want to whilst working within these documents. DGR UK is a non-hierarchical organisation, that uses consensus decision making.
